CTLM consultant joins EDUCAUSE advisory committee

A consultant from UW–Madison’s Center for Teaching, Learning & Mentoring  has joined the Teaching and Learning Advisory Committee of EDUCAUSE, an international higher education organization focused on transforming higher education and the student experience through technology, data, and enhanced accessibility.

Dr. Dan Pell will serve for three years on the committee, providing advice on strategic directions, events, publications, and resources for the teaching and learning community.  Pell is a senior teaching and learning consultant with CTLM whose current work includes developing the Reflection Space, a unique program to build community and support instructor growth through written reflection on teaching and learning. He previously served two years on the expert panel of EDUCAUSE’s Teaching and Learning Horizon Report, an influential annual publication which identifies trends and key technologies and practices shaping the future of teaching and learning.

Pell is the second academic staff member from UW–Madison to serve on the committee.  Dr. Kim Arnold, distinguished director of the Learning Analytics Center of Excellence, served on the committee from 2020 to 2023, when she initiated and served as the first lead of the Student Success Analytics Professionals Community Group

EDUCAUSE is the largest community of technology, academic, industry, and campus leaders advancing higher education through the use of IT.   UW-Madison instructors and academic staff enjoy the benefits of institutional membership, including access to training and professional development resources; an annual conference; career planning, jobseeker, networking, and volunteer opportunities; and a broad range of events and publications.
