Course Success Series: Structuring Effective Group Work

November 17, 2021 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am

Register

Social learning, or group learning, is the most important way for students to gain experience and skills in collaboration, critical thinking, self-reflection and the co-creation of knowledge. Learners benefit from frequent, meaningful opportunities to engage with each other. However, there are also many challenges managing groups and teams for both the instructor and students.  In this session, you will explore strategies and develop a plan to manage student groups and facilitate productive group interactions. Review these resources prior to the session: https://coursesuccess.wisc.edu/4-student-student-interaction4-4/.

Outcomes:

  1. Explore strategies and tools to help make group work more productive.
  2. Outline a plan for a group assignment or project.
  3. Reflect on and apply lessons learned from remote instruction.

This workshop is part of the center’s Course Success Series
