Open Educational Resources (OER): A Hands-On Learning Experience
March 3, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Looking to bring more accessible, adaptable and inclusive learning materials into your course? Open Educational Resources (OER) provide the ability to incorporate high-quality readings and other media into your class that are more versatile and affordable than commercial textbooks. This virtual, two-part, interactive workshop will define OER and their benefits, and provide activities for you to apply OER to your course design. Each session is one hour long, and we encourage attendance at both sessions. Faculty, instructional staff and graduate student instructors are welcome to attend—whether you are new to OER or want a refresher.
In this session you will:
- Describe OER and their benefits
- Identify OER that align with the design of courses you work with
This workshop is offered by the Center for Teaching, Learning and Mentoring in partnership with UW-Madison Libraries.
