I joined UW–Madison as a staff member in 2019. In the Excel Initiative, I collaborated with instructors to implement evidence-based and learner-centered teaching practices. During the pivot to remote instruction during COVID-19, I coordinated instructional design and technology support for a handful of departments in the College of Letters & Science. I joined CTLM as the coordinator of a group of educational consultants. I bring to this work the experience of a teacher, curriculum designer, faculty developer, administrator, and researcher. I began teaching college English in 1990 as the internet, the assessment of learning outcomes, and the access agenda were changing higher education. Since 2009, I have worked as a researcher, community college dean, and educational consultant on the design of educational programs that provide diverse learners with the resources necessary to make use of their access to a college education. Managing writing centers, teaching learning communities, and administering general education programs taught me early on about Gen Ed. As an educational researcher and a community college dean, I learned about structures that make colleges tick. Three decades in, I remain excited about understanding and improving programs and am committed to building programs that close opportunity gaps as part of everyday business. Details @ LinkedIn
