Karin has taught undergraduate courses (both on-ground and online) and researched best practices for student engagement and peer-to-peer learning since 2007. Her research focuses on online learning in higher education, more specifically on strategies for designing online courses as active, engaged, participatory experiences. Her dissertation developed a new model for online course design that emphasizes student agency and social learning. Karin has a passion for helping others find excitement for teaching and learning. In her free time she enjoys gardening, volleyball, weightlifting, traveling, sunshine, and spending time with her friends and family.
