Colleen has worked as an instructional designer at UW–Madison since 2018, supporting instructors and program staff in course design for credit and non-credit online learning products. She has been an instrumental part of launching UW–Madison’s first online undergraduate degree program in personal finance and continues to support the expansion of other degree programs. Her areas of interest in instructional design and education include innovating course design, leveraging learning management systems for courses, culturally responsive teaching, and expanding her leadership skills. Prior to her work at UW–Madison, Colleen was an instructional technologist for Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida. At FGCU, she designed and delivered faculty training, instructional media, and provided learning management system support for instructors. Colleen began the first decade of her career in education as a high school English teacher in Georgia and Florida. In her free time Colleen enjoys long walks, kayaking, gaming, drawing poorly, attending Forward Madison soccer games, and spending time with her cats.
