Teaching & Learning Welcome Event

Save the date: August 25, 2026, 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Academic staff and clinical instructors play a vital role in the teaching mission of the university. Join us for the Teaching & Learning Welcome, an annual event designed specially for instructors who are beginning new teaching roles and who are classified as academic/clinical staff.

You will connect with members of the UW-Madison teaching community and leave with resources to help you get started. The event includes lunch overlooking lovely Lake Mendota!

Presented by the Center for Teaching, Learning & Mentoring, the Collaboratory for Engineering Education and Teaching Excellence, the L&S Instructional Design Collaborative, and the Office of the Secretary of the Academic Staff.

9:30 – 10 a.m. — Check-in

Coffee & tea provided

10 – 10:30 a.m. — Welcome and introductions

Join us for a buffet lunch. Representatives from the UW-Madison teaching and learning community (current instructors and support staff) will join for conversation and to answer any questions.

1:40 – 2 p.m. — Provost’s welcome and closing
