Biography
Emily Baker leads the Instructional Design functional group, a talented team of instructional designers who work with units across campus to create innovative and inclusive learning experiences for UW-Madison students. Emily started her career as a K-12 educator including a year teaching aboard, which inspired her to return to school for an M.S. in Curriculum & Instruction with a focus in Educational Technology. She is a proud Badger, having received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from UW-Madison. After graduating, she found a job at UW-Madison as an instructional designer, the perfect combination of her background in education and passion for technology-enhanced learning. Over the years, her role morphed from instructional design work to managing an instructional design portfolio to ultimately directing a team of instructional designers. Emily enjoys her current role as it allows her to work with a variety of campus stakeholders while also staying current with cutting-edge instructional design practices.
