Dr. Julie Hunt Johnson is a Program Manager for the Center for Teaching, Learning & Mentoring at UW-Madison. In this role, she leads professional development programming for campus educators, including the Teaching at UW and Teaching Circle initiatives. With a master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the Ohio State University and a PhD in Educational Psychology from University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dr. Johnson brings a deep understanding of both student and faculty development to her work.
Over the past decade, Dr. Johnson has taught numerous courses at UW–Madison, guiding students through their academic journeys and personal growth. She has been selected by UW-Madison undergraduates as an Honored Instructor numerous times for having had a meaningful and substantial impact on their education.
Prior to joining UW–Madison, Dr. Johnson led teambuilding and leadership development programs, fostering collaborative and supportive environments and creating spaces for meaningful dialogue and understanding. This work led her to join Dr. Robert Enright’s Forgiveness Lab for 8 years where she studied forgiveness, coping, and peace.
Her commitment to developing practical strategies and meeting folks where they’re at is evident in all aspects of her work. She enjoys working with instructors at all career stages, both in workshops and in one-on-one consultations.
