Amanda Leary is an experienced instructor, having taught composition, religious studies, English, and philosophy courses in online and face-to-face modalities. She uses narrative-based approaches to create classroom spaces where lived experience is respected, valued, and belongs and is committed to innovation, inclusivity, accessibility, and evidence-based practices.

As a teaching and learning developer with the Center for Teaching, Learning & Mentoring, Amanda enjoys consulting with faculty on inclusive teaching and incorporating generative AI into the classroom, as well working on transforming courses to be more equitable and inclusive.

One of Amanda’s favorite parts of teaching and learning is working with students, both in the classroom and as partners in educational development. Her academic research focuses on the way the stories we tell to and about one another contribute to and shape issues of identity and representation. Outside of teaching, Amanda is an amateur baker, avid reader, and Philadelphia sports fan.
