Janet Staker Woerner has been educating leaners for more than 30 years in a variety of settings, including corporate education/training, consulting, and teaching undergraduates and graduate students as well as faculty development external to UW–Madison. She has taught online since 2002 in MBA and professional development programs along with extensive consultancy work with the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Laboratories, which includes Fermilab, Lawrence Livermore, SLAC National Accelerator, and Los Alamos. Janet is excited about the future of education with many new developments in generative AI, experimental learning, use of open educational resources, and online learning. Janet is active in several organizations, including the POD Network, Unizin, UPCEA, Educause, and SoLAR. As a teaching and learning program manager with the Center for Teaching, Learning & Mentoring, Janet enjoys supporting faculty in the craft of teaching. Outside of education, Janet is a co-principal of a family agribusiness located in Illinois. Her hobbies include spending time with family, hiking, adventure travel, and reading non-fiction.
