Julie enjoys collaborating with instructors to bring their instructional ideas to life, explore tools and strategies to enhance learning for all students, and solve pedagogical challenges as they arise. At UW-Madison since 2022, she has helped design graduate and undergraduate courses in fields including occupational therapy, pharmacy, business, and agroecology. She brings a thoughtful approach to instructional design, balancing big-picture vision with attention to detail.
Prior to her work with the CTLM, Julie’s interest in instructional design began as a graduate student instructor, when she conducted research into improving feedback in college composition classes, focusing on multilingual learners. This interest led to work in the educational publishing and educational technology sectors, where she created online courses, designed in-person workshops, and created educational content for a digital learning platform.
Outside of work, she enjoys reading, writing, photography, solving jigsaw puzzles, listening to podcasts, and spending time at home with family.
