Julie enjoys designing online and hybrid learning experiences that maximize student engagement and achieve instructional goals. Throughout her career, she has created educational content for a variety of learners, from second graders to adults. Her interest in instructional design began as a graduate student at UW–Milwaukee, when she conducted research into improving teacher feedback on student writing in college composition classes, focusing on multilingual learners. After entering the education technology sector, she learned how to tap into the power of technology to create impactful online learning.

Her past work includes creating online and hybrid courses for professional development for K–12 teachers as well as designing digital assignments and programs for improving students’ writing. Recently she has developed an interest in how to support students’ mental health through instructional design. Her passions include reading, writing, walking outdoors (in summer), solving jigsaw puzzles (in winter), listening to podcasts, and spending time at home with family.
